88-Year-Old Primary School Student
Kimani Ng'ang'a Maruge is the world's oldest primary school student, he enrolled Kapkenduiywo Primary School in Eldoret, Kenya in 2004 at the age of 84.
In 2005, he was invited to speak at the UN in New York City to stress the importance of free primary education.
Now at 88, he is studying grade 6 in Nairobi. He dreams of becoming a doctor one day.
Math teacher Julia Wanyoike says Maruge is a good student. He needs extra help in reading, but more than makes up for it in other ways. "He is an inspiration," she says.
