103 year old appointed to the Order of Canada
103-year-old Edra Ferguson was appointed to the Order of Canada after she was nominated by Tara Muzumdar, who works at her nursing home.
Her accomplishments include earning a law degree in the 1920s when the law school was mostly male, being elected the first female alderman in St. Thomas, becoming a judge, and fronting women’s groups fighting for equal rights.
